some distances are meant to be crossed

here’s some nice summer tunes for you: the Pica Beat’s “Shrinking Violets,” available over at the Free Music Archive. my first thought on hearing it was Bishop Allen since BA has a song called “Shrinking Violet,” but this is more folky, vaguely Decemberists-y, kind of seems like it should be on the Garden State soundtrack. the band is from Seattle, which seems to be an endless source of awesome pop music.

anyway, it is good solid indie music that makes me want to lay in my bed with the windows open.
